What is a virtual doula?
What is a doula?
An abortion doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, financial, informational, and logistical support to someone terminating a pregnancy. Doulas are not medical professionals, but non-clinical caregivers with a special focus on emotional, holistic support.
Who are our virtual doulas?
Our Colorado-based virtual doulas are a group of volunteers who have completed an abortion doula training that prepares us to support you before, during, and after termination. We are here to make your experience as safe and comfortable as possible.
What support can they provide?
Our doulas provide information about surgical and medication abortion so you can make an informed decision about your body and life. We can answer questions about the abortion process, provide resources, and advise when it is appropriate to seek medical care. We also provide nonjudgmental, compassionate emotional support throughout your abortion experience. You are not alone.
How do I request support?
You may request virtual support through our abortion support intake form. Just list that you want to chat with a doula over text or phone.
Who is eligible?
Anyone! There are no eligibility requirements to receive virtual doula support from CDP. We can provide virtual doula support for someone getting an abortion anywhere, in any state. We’re here to help.
